William "Bill" Angle, age 87, of Volga, died Monday, July 11, 2016, in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Volga. Eidsness Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

William Harry Angle was born April 3, 1929, in Madison, SD, to Harry and Dora (Sommars) Angle. Bill later moved to Minnesota and then back to South Dakota where he entered the United States Army in 1951. He was wounded in combat and spent an entire year in the hospital. After his honorable discharge, Bill returned to South Dakota.

Bill married Lois Nelson on August 4, 1957, in Estelline, SD. The couple lived there for the next six years, while Bill worked for Land O Lakes in Estelline. They later moved to Volga, where Bill worked as a maintenance engineer, for Land O Lakes in Volga. He retired in 1991.

After Bill retired, he spent countess hours in his wood working shop building precious pieces of furniture. He and Lois also enjoyed camping and spending their summers at their cabin near Deadwood, SD. Bill was a member of First Lutheran Church in Volga and the American Legion. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a great jokester.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; grandchildren: Dustyn (Maranda) Nelson, Desiree Nelson, Olivia Rose Angle, and Ethan William Angle; great-grandchildren: Matthew, Makayla, Oscar, and Owen Nelson, and Sawyer Koernke; and half-sisters, Carolee Angle, Marilyn Angle, Carol Montgomery, and Lennis Sigrist.   He was preceded in death by his parents; son Billy Jo; daughter, Robin Renee; half-brothers, Ralph and Bernard; half-sisters, Harriett, Alice; and step-sisters, Margaret, and Mable.
