Wayne K. Fischer, age 82, of Brookings, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Riverview Healthcare Center in Flandreau, SD.  Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 2 ^nd at Eidsness Funeral Home with burial to follow at the United Cemetery, rural Arlington, SD.

Wayne was born on August 5, 1939, in Ada, MN.  He grew up and graduated from High School in Ada.  After graduation, Wayne joined the United States Army and faithfully served his country for two years.  After his honorable discharge, he moved to Seattle, Washington and went to work for Boeing.  Wayne retired from Boeing at the age of 55 and moved back to Ada, MN.

On May 30, 2010, Wayne married Johna Lilja in Fengping, China.  The couple lived in Brookings until the time of his death.

Wayne was an avid bowler throughout his life.  He was also a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Johna of Brookings and his nephew, Wayne (Melanie) Fischer of rural Arlington, nephew, Rodney (Michelle) Fischer of Glyndon, MN and niece, Cindy (James) Stene of Ada, MN; and several grand and great grand nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
