Walter A. Schultz, age 79, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at his home in Bushnell, South Dakota. No funeral services are planned.
Walter Albert Schultz was born August 27, 1929, near Wentworth, South Dakota, to Albert and Gertrude (Kaske) Rundles. He attended Templeton Country School near Wessington Springs, South Dakota. As a young man he went to work for the railroad, then moved on to become a farmer near Osakis, Minnesota, and then to a farm at Pipestone, Minnesota. He moved to Brookings, South Dakota, where he worked as a mechanic for C&E Implement, and then as a driver for Conveyance Vans.
On August 22, 1987, Walter married Terry Anderson at Brookings. Following their marriage they lived in Bushnell. Walter was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookings.
Walter is lovingly remembered by his wife, Terry Schultz, of Bushnell, South Dakota; two daughters: Colleen (Vince) Toenyan of Long Prairie, Minnesota, and Deb (Brett) Hanson of Alta, Iowa; two sons: John (Lori) Schultz of Welcome, Minnesota, and Larry (Mary) Schultz of Long Prairie, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Darwin (Darleen) Rundles, of Garden City, Kansas; two sisters: Jeanette (Harold) Neuman Jr. of Long Prairie, Minnesota, and Donna (Loren) Roberts of Crystal Lake, Iowa; a half-brother, Terry McKinny of Rapid City, South Dakota; and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a half-brother, and a half-sister.
