Obituary

Thomas Lee Moser, 74, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the White Care Center in White, SD. Memorial services will be 11:00am, Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elkton, with visitation from 5pm until 7pm, Friday, at Eidsness Funeral Home in White, SD. Burial will be in Memorial Hill Cemetery at Lake Benton, MN. Tom was born on June 18, 1939, in Steen, MN, the son of Julius and Lillian (LaFranz) Moser. He attended country school in Lester, IA, through the eighth grade. Tom and his brothers would ride their pet horse "Danny" to school. He continued his education in Elkton, SD and was a graduate of the Elkton High School in 1959. He was united in marriage to Alice Mae Dearborn on March 31, 1979 in Lake Benton, MN. Tom worked in the gold mines in Deadwood / Lead, SD. Later in life he was employed for Kramer Implement and for the Brookings County Highway Department until his retirement. In his spare time, Tom also operated a copper stripping business. Alice died on May 19, 2006 in Brookings, SD. Tom was an avid turkey hunter. He also truly enjoyed his "social outings" with his friends. Tom is survived by one step-daughter Pam and family; two brothers Irwin (Anita) Moser of Greeley, CO, Dean (Shirley) Moser of Sioux Falls, SD, one sister Vikkie (Steve) Myers of Elkton, SD; and his best friend Jim (Tammie) Bauer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Step-son Gary, and one sister Sandra.
