Dr. Thomas Cheesbrough, age 62, of rural Volga, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2014, in Sioux Falls, after fighting cancer for several years. Memorials may be given in his memory to the Future Biologist Scholarship at SDSU. No services are planned. Tom took great joy in his long career as a molecular biologist and SDSU administrator, and cherished the friends and students he worked with. He saw the best in each person and found much happiness in the many good hearts he met along his path. At home, Tom enjoyed the hours he spent gardening and mastering the art of woodworking. A loving and beloved husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Valerie Cheesbrough, and two daughters, Vanessa Bailey and Shan Cheesbrough. Tom was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
