Susan Gaye (Doren) Gruseth, 68, of Lake Preston, passed away on May 19, 2021, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  A memorial service will be held at a future date.

Susan was born on September 13, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Marian (Novak) and Max Doren.  In 1954, Susan moved to California with her family, and lived there until May of 1963, when they moved back to Madison, South Dakota.  The family moved to Arlington, South Dakota, in 1968, where she graduated from Arlington High School in 1971.  Susan married Robert Gruseth on December 31, 1971, and the couple lived in Volga until they moved to Brookings.  Susan also moved to Little Fork, Minnesota in 2015, and moved back to Lake Preston in 2019.

Susan's hobbies included crocheting and sewing.  Throughout her life she worked at Ravens, Casey's, and Karl's TV and Appliance for a short time.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; and one sister, Elizabeth Kaye.

She is survived by her two children: Jennica (Ryan) Dean, of Sioux Falls, SD, and Joshua Gruseth, of Lake Preston, SD; two granddaughters: Akasha Winker, of ND, and Shayla Johnson, of Sioux Falls, SD; a brother, Dennis (Linda) Doren, of Arlington, SD; a sister, Luanna White, of Madison, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
