Susan Crooks, age 57, of Astoria, SD, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, in Sioux Falls, SD. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, SD. A Visitation will be held from 9:15 am to 9:45 am at the Eidsness Funeral Chapel in White, SD, on Friday, January 31, 2025, with a 10:00 am Graveside Service in Fairview Cemetery at White, SD. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 31, 2025 in First Baptist Church at White, SD.

Susan "Sue" Crooks was born February 14, 1967, the daughter of Cedric and Gladys (Morris) Raine. She attended and graduated from Deubrook High School, class of 1985. After high school, Sue attended South Dakota State University and graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design. She began her career working for Ethan Allen in Omaha, then continued on to Alaska, worked at a bank before finishing her career at Larson Manufacturing where she formed a very tight bond with co-workers. Sue met the love of her life, Lowell Crooks, they were married on November 10, 2003.

Family was very important to Sue. She loved remembering birthdays of the nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She enjoyed planning parties, especially hosting "hunters" (new relatives she had never met) and planning on what she could create to feed them. Sue relished entertaining neighbors on Sunday afternoons and friends joining them in the middle of the week for a home cooked supper.

Sue is survived by her husband, Lowell Crooks; their summer kids, Lee Reinboldt, Virginia (Levi) Bolan and Jeb; sister, Cindee (Ricky) Pietz; nephew, Robbi (Katrina) and great-nephews and nieces, Rachael (Josh) Sorell, Brandon (Cassie) McBride and Robbi K II; nephew and niece, Paul and Kari and great-niece Amiah; sisters, Lisa Raine and Mary Raine; sister-in-law, Peggy Raine; nephews, Chad, Jon and Eric (Jessi); niece, Aimee Tow and her son Logan; great- nephews, Slade (Courtney), Cyrus and Isaac and niece, Josie Raine; great-niece, Cybil Raine and her mother Candace Riley; aunt Carol Morris; brother-in-law, Mike; nephew, Shannon (Joan); great-niece, Katelyn (Justin); great-great niece, Brylyn; nephew Sheldon (Laura);  great-nephews and nieces, Brody, Parker (Jaidison) and Ava; brother-in-law, Lee (Donna); nieces, Allison (Chris) and their daughters Alaina and Makla, Emily and Chelsey; sister-in-law, Eileen; niece, Lindsey (Thomas) and great-nieces, Lucy and Sylvia; brother-in-law, Dana (Nancy); niece, Melissa and great-niece and nephew Nora and Roman; with a host of close friends, Larson co-workers and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Don and Ruth Crooks, brother Joseph and nephew Cedric.
