Spencer Murphy, age 33 of White, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Brookings ER due to an electrical accident.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Brookings with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery at White, SD.  Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday, August 21st at McKnight Hall in White.  Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations for Spencer's children.

Spencer Lavern Murphy was born on January 4, 1991 in Brookings, SD to Tim and Shelly (Bergjord) Murphy. He was raised near White, SD. Spencer attended Deubrook Area Public Schools and graduated in 2009. He then attended Minnesota West in Canby, MN, pursuing a degree in electrical technology. Spencer worked on the family farm and Avangrid Renewable Energy.

On September 1, 2018, Spencer was united in marriage to Stephanie Tol at St. Paul Catholic Church in White, South Dakota. Together they were blessed with 2 boys, Rhett and Judd, and a baby on the way.

Spencer enjoyed and cherished all his time with his boys. He enjoyed ranger rides with his family and golfing with Steph. Spencer and Stephanie always made a point to prioritize date nights. Whether he was fixing or tinkering, you could always find him doing something. He was always full of life, sharing his witty remarks with all he met. A fond sibling memory is Spencer with his guitar, singing the line, "Sometimes Late at Night..."

He loved the plentiful time spent on the farm alongside his mother and father, and brothers, Dylan and Forrest. He was known as "Spenceter" by his many nieces and nephews and all the daycare kids, who adored Spencer's fun personality.

Spencer will be remembered for his willingness to lend a helping hand to all and his ability to brighten everyone's day.

Those left to cherish his memory and legacy include his wife, Stephanie; his boys, Rhett and Judd; parents, Tim and Shelly Murphy -White, SD; In-laws, Brian and Deb Nichols- Sioux Falls, SD; siblings: Dylan (Bethann) Murphy- White, SD, Forrest (Cierra) Murphy- White, SD, Falon (Kris) Paluch- Ivanhoe, MN, Brooke (Dylan) Schwartz- White, SD; Sister-in-law, Brooke Nichols- Sioux Falls, SD; Brother-in-law, Dylan Nichols- Sioux Falls, SD; grandparents, Marilyn Costello - Sioux Falls, SD, and Joanne Murphy - White, SD, nieces and nephews: Finley, Maverick, Ruby, Mila, Goldie and Stevie Murphy, Crue, Curri and Codak Murphy, Hattie, Kellen and Jerret Paluch, Nova, Beau and Kase Schwartz, and Ariyah and Adrian Nichols; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by grandpa-Michael Costello - Sioux Falls, SD; grandparents- Dale and Marilyn Murphy- White, SD, and Norris and Nancy Bergjord- Toronto, SD; and Nephew- Cowan Murphy- White, SD.
