Shyla Barron, age 60, of Brookings died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Covington Heights in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Pauls Catholic Church in White, South Dakota, with interment in Fairview Cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-7 P.M. Thursday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in White, with a prayer service at the chapel at 7:00 P.M. Shyla Clare (DuBois) Barron was born December 27, 1942, at Miller, South Dakota, to Daryl and Dorothy (Weber) DuBois. She attended school at Ree Heights, Blunt, Agar, Toronto, and Trent, South Dakota. On October 8, 1959, she married Dale J. Barron in Aurora, South Dakota. The couple resided in White until 1964, when they moved to Brookings where they lived until 1966 when they moved back to White. They moved to Houston, Texas, in 1974, and returned to South Dakota in 1976. Shyla worked at the White Healthcare Center from 1978 until 2000. She was employed for a time at the Pavilion Restaurant in Brookings and at South Dakota State University. Dale died April 9, 2003. Shyla was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church at White. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-nieces and nephews and grandson, Kellen. Survivors include two sons: Cully (Amber) Barron and their son, Kellen, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Brad Barron of Sioux Falls; two brothers: Dallas DuBois of Prim, Arkansas, and Doug DuBois of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Nancy (Norris) Bergjord, of Toronto, South Dakota; and a sister-in-law, Lois Poelvoorde, of Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Dwight.
