Shaun Jensen, 40, of rural Brookings passed away on January 3, 2022, at his home as a result of natural causes.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the Pioneer Lutheran Church in White, South Dakota at 11:00 A.M..  A time of visitation will be held the evening prior, Friday, February 4, 2022, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., also at Pioneer Lutheran Church.  Shaun's services will be arranged and directed by the Jensen family.

Shaun James Jensen was born on May 22, 1981, in Hendricks, Minnesota to Randy and Penny (Johnson) Jensen. Shaun grew up on the family farm, graduating from Deubrook High School in 1999. In 2001 Shaun graduated from Lake Area Tech, where he focused his studies on Diesel Mechanics.

Shaun seemed destined to be a famer from a very early age. He began his farming career at the age of 9, guided by his grandpa Alvin. As he grew into adulthood, Shaun purchased an acreage of his own only a mile away from the family farm in rural Brookings. Shaun was also the owner and operator of Diesel Werx.

Shaun was a member of Pioneer Lutheran Church in White, South Dakota. He also enjoyed tractor pulling, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Shaun is survived by his parents, Randy and Penny (Johnson) Jensen; brothers: Kyle (Tiffany) Jensen, and Jed (Devon) Jensen; nieces: Sunni, Payton, Lakyn, and Zoey Jensen; grandma, Nathelle (Barry) Nelson; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Gail Johnson; grandparents Alvin and Arloene Jensen; and an uncle, Larry Jensen.
