Sharon Webster, 80, of Brookings, joined the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the Brookings Hospital with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Brookings. Masks will be required at First Presbyterian Church. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery immediately following the service. There will be a time of fellowship and lunch served at the Community Life Center, located on the corner of 625 5th Street in Brookings following burial. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Eidsness Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to First Presbyterian Church in Brookings, SD or SDSU Foundation to be designated to Athletic Scholarships.
Sharon Marie Hoffman was born on July 31, 1941, to Harvey and Mildred (Welter) Hoffman in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She attended Harrisburg High School, graduating in 1959. She enjoyed competing in beauty pageants and was Miss Universe of South Dakota in 1961. She attended South Dakota State College and obtained two degrees in 1963, Home Economics and Textile Clothing; and Education. This is where she met the love of her life and married Stuart "Skip" Webster on December 28, 1963. They spent almost 58 years of marriage together. After college she taught Home Economics at Deubrook School in White, SD for 8 years. After leaving teaching, she stayed home to raise her family and was Skip's State Farm business manager for 36 years. She and Skip enjoyed traveling the world, but Hawaii was always her favorite place to visit.
Sharon was very active in the community and an active member of the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed being in school groups such as Beta Sigma Phi, Diversified Women Investors Group, P.E.O., and was a member of the SDSU Home Economics Alumni Club. Sharon had a love for her outdoor flowers and holiday decorating, with Christmas being her favorite holiday. She volunteered for numerous organizations and was a generous, caring, loving, motivated, and organized person. Cheering and supporting the Jackrabbits was one of her favorite pastimes. Most of all she enjoyed spoiling her 6 grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Stuart "Skip" Webster; sons: Brian (Jessica) Webster, of Sioux Falls, SD, Troy Webster, of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter Shari (Chad) Landmark, of White, SD; grandchildren: Ashley, Carley, Gavin, and Ty Landmark, and Ian and Anika Webster; sister, Roberta (John) Almont, of Sioux Falls, SD; brothers: Harvey (Patricia) Hoffman, of Lennox, SD, and Donald (Dawn) Hoffman, of Harrisburg, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mildred Hoffman.
