Sadie Mersch, age 12, of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the Brookings Emergency Room.  Visitation will be on Thursday, November 17th from 5-8 P.M. at Eidsness Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, November 18th at St. Thomas More Parish with burial to follow at St. Williams Cemetery in Aurora, SD.

Sadie Marie Mersch was born on May 31, 2010, to Troy Mersch and Candi Zimmerman in Brookings, South Dakota.  Sadie grew up in Aurora, South Dakota, attending Mickelson Middle School in Brookings.

Sadie loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was an extremely talented artist, enjoying painting and drawing as well as creative writing.  Sadie loved animals of all kinds, particularly butterflies.  Having an exploring spirit, Sadie never shied away  from trying new things.  She also enjoyed fishing, campfires, being in the water, and listening to music.

Sadie is survived by her parents: Troy Mersch and Candi Zimmerman; her grandparents: Joe and Jan Mersch and Roger and Susan Zimmerman; aunt and uncle Nikki and Brian Gronli; uncles: Anthony Zimmerman, Allen Zimmerman, Adam Zimmerman, and Alex Zimmerman; cousins: Drew (Megan) Bach, Hunter Gronli, Jamison Bach, Brooke Gronli, James Zimmerman, Landon Zimmerman, and Blake Zimmerman; great aunt Mary Heupel; and many other great aunts and uncles.

She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents: John and Imogene Mersch, Ben and Ruth Sieve, Dan Gillin, Anne Moorehead, and Bonita Gillin; and an uncle, Aaron Zimmerman.
