Ruth M. Havrevold, 86, of Brookings, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Brookview Manor in Brookings. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 9, 2003, at First Presbyterian Church in Brookings, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will be from 7-9 P.M. Sunday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings and preceding services at the church. Ruth M. Havrevold was born June 4, 1917, at Thunderhawk, South Dakota, to John J. and Christina (Hansen) Fedde. She attended grade school in Roscoe and McIntosh and graduated from McIntosh High School. On October 16, 1952, she married Donald Havrevold at Hernando, Mississippi. Ruth worked at several grocery stores in her earlier years. Ruth was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Brookings and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed canning and sewing. Survivors include her husband, Donald, of Brookings; a daughter, Marcella (Tim) Banks of Tucson, Arizona; two grandchildren, Sarah and Luke Banks; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and one brother.
