Roger Wood, age 63, of League City, Texas, passed away at his home of natural causes on September 5, 2018. A memorial service will be held on September 15, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, South Dakota, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery at Brookings.

Roger graduated from Brookings High School in 1973. After graduation, he began working in the vending industry, eventually developing his own business of repairing and transporting vending machines in Houston, Texas. He continued operating his own business until the time of his death.

Roger could repair anything mechanical and enjoyed tinkering on cars, boats, and anything with moving parts. He enjoyed learning about new things and having new experiences. Roger was a very social person, and never met a stranger. What he looked forward to most was coming to South Dakota to visit his daughter, grandson, and son-in-law.

Roger is survived by his grandson, Tre Christopherson, Brookings, SD; his son-in-law, Chris Christopherson, Brookings, SD; his sister, Judith (Kent) Wolfe, Lexington, SC, and their children and grandchild, Sarah (Corey) Rodriguez, Shelby Wolfe & friend Chris Brownli (Jameson Brownli), Shannon (Joey) Davis, Virginia (Larken) Wolfe; and his brother, Kent (Mary) Wood, Sioux Falls, SD, and their children and grandchildren, Zachary (Courtney) Wood (Trey Wood, Beau Wood), Briana (Ryan) Krueger (Kai Krueger), Samantha Wood & friend Nicholas Ratzloff.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Christopherson, and his parents, Leon and Elsa Wood.
