Rochelle Anne DeBoer was born on May 15 th , 1947, in Volga, SD to Roger and Eva (Linneman) DeBoer. She grew up in Bruce, SD as the eldest child with her brothers Tom and Paul. Rochelle was baptized on May 25 th , 1947 and received all her religious sacraments at St Francis deSales Catholic Church in Estelline, SD.
Following her high school graduation, Rochelle enrolled at Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD and received a degree in Education. Rochelle was a 4 th grade teacher at St Joseph Cathedral School in Sioux Falls, SD. She married Paul Anderson on August 9 th , 1969 at St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls, SD. The greatest blessing in her life was in 1981 when the couple welcomed Peter John Thomas Anderson into their lives. The family lived in Crooks, SD for many years in the perfect small-town neighborhood.
Rochelle spent a few years at home raising Peter, then began a 20 plus career at Norwest/Wells Fargo. Her real passion in life was teaching, and she returned as a teacher's aide at multiple elementary schools in Sioux Falls until her retirement. Rochelle moved to Sioux Falls where her circle of friends continued to grow. Her favorite place of residence was the Cathedral Heights Apartments, where she was one minute away from Mass and she could look out her picture window at The Cathedral of St. Joseph.
The second greatest blessing in Rochelle's life were her grandkids. Her face would light up with the biggest smile when they would visit. She enjoyed having sleepovers at her house, taking them to movies, and teaching them the proper way to vacuum and dust. Rochelle would talk nonstop to friends and family about her precious Jackson and Mackenzie.
Every Sunday Rochelle made a noon meal after Mass for her family. She prayed the rosary daily and took great pride in her strong Catholic faith. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Sioux Falls. Rochelle had the gift of gab, always cared about others, and was not afraid to express her opinion. She loved to read books, watch the Minnesota Twins, played bingo, and baked deserts. Rochelle love to attend SDSU women's basketball games, travel with her family on a yearly trip to watch her beloved Twins in person, attend DeBoer clan family vacations, and eat a Nick's Burgers in Brookings, SD. She looked forward to special lunches with her Wells Fargo gals, first wives club, and the bow hunters club, just to name a few.
Rochelle was a true and faithful friend, had a great sense of humor and a positive attitude. She had great faith and loved her family with all her heart. Rochelle accepted challenges in her life with grace and humor. She made the best out of every situation and has left a legacy of love.
