Roberta Marie "Bert" Schwartz, age 79, of rural Aurora, passed away October 26, 2020, at home under hospice care. Private family services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in White, SD. The service will be live streamed on the Eidsness Funeral Home Facebook Page. An open visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020, from 4-7 P.M. at Eidsness Funeral Home. Masks are required at the funeral home for visitation.
Roberta "Bert" was born December 17, 1940, in Brookings, SD, to Robert and Marie (Seas) Stamp. She attended country school and graduated from high school in Astoria, SD.
On August 12, 1977, Bert married Robert "Bob" Schwartz. Together, they farmed side by side north of Aurora. Bert also worked as a clerk at Runnings. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Brookings and volunteered with Girl Scouts, 4-H, FFA, and was on the ASC committee with the United States Department of Agriculture.
Bert loved her time farming, gardening, sewing, baking, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Bob of rural Aurora; son Randy (Linda) Ronne; daughter, Cheryl Nelson; step-son, Scott (Joni) Hulderson; and step-daughter, Gena Hulderson; grandchildren, Chandra (Matt) Prosch, Casey (Cord) Collison, Aliesha (Matt) Jacobs, Zach Hulderson, and Hallie Gehring; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Prosch, Brady Prosch, Sawyer Prosch, Vivian Collison, Riley Jacobs, and Jet Hulderson; and Todd Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marie Stamp; brothers, Rodney (Bernice) Stamp, Garry (Doris) Stamp, and Norman (Leona) Stamp; and one step-son, Mark Hulderson.
