Robert "Pete" G. Peters, age 79, of White, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center in Estelline, South Dakota. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in White, with interment of cremated remains to follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Robert George Peters was born July 28, 1936, near Bushnell, South Dakota, to George William and Adelena Margaret (Thoelke) Peters. He moved to the White area with his parents at the age of three. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at White. He attended school in White and graduated from White High School in 1955.

Pete worked on the farm with his parents. After his father's death in 1966, he and his mother moved into White and he went to work for LeRoy Patrick. He then worked for Warren Thompson and for Clark Woodard at the gas station. He was last employed by Willmott Gravel until his retirement.

Survivors include his brother, Sidney Peters, of Brookings; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Ivey, Mildred, Evelyn, and Mary.
