Robert "Bob" Audus, 63, of White, South Dakota, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, following a courageous battle with cancer.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in White, beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will immediately follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in White.  A time of visitation will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at St. Paul's Catholic Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting Bob's family with arrangements.

Robert John Audus was born on January 28, 1956, to Walt and Arlene (Smith) Audus in Gettysburg, South Dakota.  The family moved to Clark, South Dakota in 1962, and Bob attended school in Clark from kindergarten through his senior year, graduating in 1974.  Throughout his childhood, Bob spent many summers with his Uncle John, and Grandma Audus on the farm, cultivating a love for the outdoors and learning to work with his hands.

Bob joined the Air Force in December of 1974, where he eventually earned the rank of Master Sergeant.  While in the Air Force, Bob spent much of his time as a Scientific Measurement Technician, but also worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician.  Bob was very proud of his military service, and during his enlistment was awarded special recognition as well as several medals and decorations for his dedication.  Bob was also a member of the American Legion in White.

On April 26, 1986, Bob married Jodi (Peterson) Audus at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida, and the couple enjoyed their lives with their five daughters and one son, and later their grandkids.

Bob was a man of many interests.  He loved watching sports, particularly SDSU and his beloved Minnesota Twins with his children and grandchildren.  He had a passion for hunting and fishing, the outdoors, and tinkering with just about anything mechanical.  Bob sharpened chainsaw chains for many of the residents in White, and was known as a "Mr. Fix-It" by many of his friends.  He had a particular attention to detail, and enjoyed mowing and snow removal, ensuring that he had an immaculate lawn during all seasons.  Bob also had a softer side to him, as he enjoyed painting, grilling and cooking, watching all movies, and spoiling his dogs.

Bob will be remembered by his family as having a wonderful sense of humor, and teaching them the importance of family.  He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren, and would do anything to make them happy.  Bob was also an eternal optimist, finding the good in everything and everyone, and making sure to give every neighbor passing by a wave.  Bob was someone who truly enjoyed life, and he will be missed by many.

Bob is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jodi Audus of White; daughters Dawn (Keith) Krier of Hendricks, MN, Wendy (Al) Resmen of Litchfield, MN, Shelly (Jason) Rogers of Victoria, MN, Hannah Audus of Tea, and Amber (Cody) Hansen of Slayton, MN; grandchildren Cody, Cassidy, and Ciarra Resmen, Cooper Rogers, Lyra and Baby Boy Hansen, due September 1st. He is also survived by his siblings Ken (Cheryl) Audus of Lawrence, KS, Patti (Bruce) Lien of Watertown, and Jeff (Sharon) Audus of LeSeur, MN; brothers-in-law Chris Peterson of Brookings, and Daren (Deb) Peterson of Twin Brooks; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, John Audus; his parents Walt and Arlene Audus; Jodi's parents Lloyd "Snook" and Jean Peterson; and his many beloved dogs.
