Ricky C. Bearman, age 60, of rural Volga, died Friday, March 9, 2012, at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Memorial services and visitations will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Ricky Charles Bearman was born September 29, 1951, at Fargo, North Dakota, to Charles A. and Norma E. (Fraase) Bearman. The family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1961, where he graduated from A.J. Dimond High School in 1970. He attended Denver Automotive and Diesel Mechanics School, and returned to Anchorage where he worked for the school district for 30 years, retiring in 2002. Rick moved to Volga, South Dakota, where he had bought an acreage a few years before. On June 7, 2009, he married Faye Bergjord Dahl at First Lutheran Church in Brookings, where they are members. Rick and Faye wintered in Florence Gardens, Arizona, where they also owned a home. They loved to travel, and Rick was an antique car enthusiast as well as a lover of hunting, fishing, and attending gun shows. Survivors include his wife, Faye Dahl Bearman, of Volga; two brothers: Terry (Michael) of Lompoc, California, and Kenny (Nancy) of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Colette (Jack) Jensen of San Antonio, Texas; a brother-in-law, Linn (Carol) Bergjord, of Brookings; five step-children; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Rick had a soft heart, a warm soul, and will be missed by many.
