Rick Clarin, age 56, of Volga, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at his home in Volga, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Brookings, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will be from 4-7 P.M. Friday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Ricky Lee Clarin was born August 23, 1949, at Brookings, South Dakota, to Gordon and Mary (Peters) Clarin. He graduated from Brookings High School in 1968. On May 12, 1973, he married Gayle Lakeman at Brookings. Rick worked as a plumber in Volga for 15 years and for the City of Volga for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and being with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Gayle, of Volga; his son, Travis Clarin, of Volga; his mother, Mary Clarin, of Brookings; two sisters, Cheryl (Ron) Borstad of Brookings, and Carol (Arden) Nelson of Lake Preston, South Dakota; and a brother, Steve Clarin, of Brookings. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
