Richard (Dick) Groseclose, 79, met his heavenly father on April 15, 2004, at the Brookings Hospital in Brookings, South Dakota. He was surrounded by his wife Rosella, his five daughters, and one granddaughter. Services for Dick's immediate family took place in Brookings on the evening of April 15, 2004. Dick's wish was to be cremated following a service for immediate family only. A celebration of Dick's life for friends and family will take place at the Onida cemetery at a future date to be announced. Condolences may be sent to Rosella Groseclose at 2322 Yorkshire Drive, Brookings, SD 57006. Dick was born September 10, 1924 in Pierre, South Dakota, to James Claremont and Mary (Harry) Groseclose. He was brother to six siblings. On June 1, 1946, Dick was united in marriage with Rosella (Kennedy) Groseclose. Born to this was five daughters. Dick was proud of being a WW II Navy veteran. He served on the Onida Police Department for over 25 years. He was a member of the Peace Officer's Association and the American Legion. Dick had a sense of humor and a big heart. Many will remember his antics and jokes. He had a mischievous side and one that was heartfelt and compassionate. Dick would give the shirt off his back to help a friend. Survivors include his wife, Rosella, of Brookings; five daughters. Thirteen living grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, and one granddaughter Kenlyn Archer.
