Peter D. Brunsting, age 65, of Brookings, died Thursday, August 14, 2008, at the Brookings Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 18, 2008, at the Eidsness-Zink Funeral Chapel in Elkton, with interment in the Elkton City Cemetery. Visitations will be from 2-5 P.M. Sunday at the funeral chapel. Peter Dale Brunsting was born July 30, 1943, at Boyden, Iowa, to Cornelius and Jean (Baartman) Brunsting. He grew up and attended school at Boyden, and graduated from high school there. He worked at various places including driving truck, working construction, and farming. He was trucking when he retired. He enjoyed bowling and hunting and loved family gatherings when he could spend time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his four children: Jeff (Kristi) Brunsting, of Elkton, South Dakota, Keri (Chuck) Wallenstein of Adrian, Minnesota; Brad Brunsting of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Sara Brunsting of Port St. Lucie, Florida; four grandchildren: Katrina, Kassandra, Nathan, and Alecia Wallenstein; two great-grandchildren: Jaden and Mia; two sisters: Ruby DenHerder of Wakefield, Nebraska, and Carol TenBraak of Sheldon, Iowa; and a brother, Dennis (Sue) Brunsting, of Valley Springs, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Corleen Meendering.
