Paul Richard Wake passed away April 23, 2005, at his home in Fargo, North Dakota, from chronic depression. Memorial services will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church in Brookings at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 2, 2005. The family requests that memorials go to the Fargo Public Library. Paul Richard Wake was born January 31, 1975, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Richard Arnold and Carol Marie (Fodness) Wake. He moved with his family to Brookings, South Dakota, in 1977. He attended elementary and high school in Brookings. He was active in band and Odyssey of the Mind. He studied philosophy and biology at South Dakota State University, the University of Minnesota, and the University of South Dakota. He moved to Fargo in 2004, and most recently worked at a Fargo cement company. Paul loved to read about everything from the stars to quarks. He wanted to know how it all fit together. Survivors include his parents, Richard and Carol Wake, of Brookings; a sister, Laura Wake and niece Sami Marie Wake, of Brookings; a brother and sister-in-law, David Wake and Norah Bringer, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandparents: Jean Wake, and Donna and Orval Fodness, all of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his grandfather Arnold Richard Wake.
