Patty was born on February 11, 1957, in Mobridge, South Dakota, to Valentine and Monica Wald. She grew up in Artas and graduated from Eureka High School. She grew up in a hardworking and close family and carried those values with her throughout her life.
Patty married the love of her life, Kenny, on November 30th, 1979. Together they made their home near Eureka on the family farm. Life on the farm suited her. She loved the quiet of the country, the changing seasons, the beauty of a fresh snowfall, and the comfort of simple routines. Her home was always warm, welcoming, and filled with the little things she enjoyed. She took pride in her garden, her cooking and baking, and the traditions she passed down to her family. Patty had a gentle spirit and a genuine kindness that people felt right away. She believed in being friendly, in offering a smile, and in paying attention to the small moments that make life meaningful. She enjoyed holidays, family celebrations, card games on winter days, and time spent visiting with the people she cared about.
Patty's greatest joy was being a mother. She raised three children, David, John, and Mary. Her pride grew as her family grew, and she treasured her grandchildren. Patty is survived by her children David and his girlfriend Cris of Omaha, John and his wife Jess along with their children Nora and Miles of Harrisburg, and Mary and her husband Tyler Brandriet along with their daughter Lily of Fargo. Her grandchildren brought her so much happiness and she loved watching them grow.
She is survived by her husband, Kenny, their three children and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
Patty was a wonderful wife and mother, and she will be missed deeply.
