Patricia Joffer, age 76, passed away at her home on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in Brookings, SD. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, SD.

Patricia Ann Joffer was born May 29, 1949, to Henrietta and Grover Miller in Dunkirk, New York. She grew up in Fredonia, NY, graduating from Fredonia High School in 1967.  Pat obtained her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from USD and her PhD from SDSU. She worked as a professor teaching Criminal Justice and Sociology in Colorado and SDSU. As a professor, Pat got the opportunity to go to Africa which she was very proud of. As a child, she worked in the grape orchards at her grandparent's acreage. Pat enjoyed taking fishing trips to Lake Erie with her dad.

Pat met and married Butch Joffer, in Ft. Huachuca, AZ, on August 20, 1968. To this union, two children were born: her son Duke and her daughter Jennifer. They lived in various places throughout their marriage including Arizona, New York, Colorado, and South Dakota.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed collecting elephants and Turtles, taking motorcycle rides with her husband, going on cruises and going to Casinos were also amongst her favorites. Pat was patiently waiting for her favorite football team, the Buffalo Bills, to win their first Super Bowl. GO BILLS!!

Pat is survived by her husband, Butch of Brookings, SD; son, Duke Joffer and his wife Deb of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Jen Joffer of Worthing, SD; grandson, Riley Knutson of Sioux Falls, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
