Orville Bud Anderson, age 75, of Bushnell, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at the Brookings Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 23, 2006, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookings, with interment in the Trosky Cemetery at Trosky, Minnesota. Visitations will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Eidsness Funeral Home. Orville Louis Anderson was born February 28, 1931, in Osceola County, Iowa, to Oren and Rosina (Wessels) Anderson. Bud grew up on a farm in OBrien County, Iowa, and attended school near Ritter. He served in the United States Marine Corps from January 1952 until January 1954, and was a marksman with the rifle and pistol. On September 22, 1957, he married Alvira Stelling at Trosky, Minnesota. Bud farmed from 1956 until 1979, and then worked as a mechanic at C & E Implement and Beckman Implement in Brookings. He also worked as a farm hand for Percy Sutton. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and reading. Survivors include his wife, Alvira, of Bushnell; a daughter, Terry (Walter) Schultz, of Bushnell; a son, Brian (Jeanette) Anderson, of Long Prairie, Minnesota; three grandsons, John, Joseph, and Jacob Anderson; a brother, Delbert Anderson, of Milbank, South Dakota; and six sisters: Roszella Hunter of Jasper, Minnesota, Mary (Albert) Arndt of Jasper, Minnesota, Diane (Fred) Lichtsinn of Lake Benton, Minnesota, Eunice (Bob) Sibson of Pipestone, Minnesota, Linda Bruns of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Lavonne (Herman) Lichtsinn of Lake Benton, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Donna Lichtsinn; three brothers-in-law, Melvin Lichtsinn, Gary Bruns, and Orland Hunter; and a god-child, Marlys Arndt.
