Neil Larson, age 77, of Brookings, SD passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, beginning at 10:30 A.M.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery at South Shore.

Neil Larson was born on October 18, 1945 to Alfred and Cora (Hansen) Larson in Watertown, SD. He graduated from South Shore. Neil worked for the South Dakota Department of Transportation. Neil married the love of his life, Betty, on October 7, 1995. Together they enjoyed going to rodeo's and riding horses.

Neil loved to rodeo, especially team roping. Neil had a special relationship with his grandchildren. He would yell "chores" and they would go running to help him.

Survivors include his step-children: Johnny (Denise) Monsees, Lynette (Steve) Bacon, and Lauralee (William) Barnard. Grandchildren Conner, Ashten, Taylor, Madison, and William.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty.
