Nancy Rohrer, age 69, of Elkton, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at the White Healthcare Center in White, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Elkton, with interment in the Elkton City Cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Eidsness-Zink Funeral Chapel in Elkton. Nancy Lee (Kruse) Rohrer was born March 5, 1942, at Hendricks, Minnesota, to Earl and Juanita (Morris) Kruse. She grew up in the White area and attended country school Sherman No. 103. Nancy graduated from Astoria High School in 1960. She went three years to Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna and then transferred to Mankato State where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. On August 26, 1967, she married Christian Rohrer at Mankato, Minnesota. Nancy taught one year at Ellendale, Minnesota, 26 and one-half years at Elkton, and did substitute teaching at Hendricks, Minnesota, for four years Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church in Elkton. She enjoyed oil painting and water color, quilting, cake decorating, calligraphy, and flower arranging. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Christian Rohrer, of Elkton, South Dakota; two daughters: Heather Rohrer, of Brookings, and Holly (William) Wydeck, of Elkton, South Dakota; Christian Rohrer IV, of Brookings; five grandchildren: Alexis, Emma, Chloe, Tucker, and Sawyer; and a brother, Daniel (Joyce) Kruse, of Custer, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Juanita Kruse, and a sister, Pat Smith.
