Nancy Lee, age 69, of Volga, died Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014, at First Lutheran Church in Volga, with interment of cremated remains at 2:30 p.m. at the Milbank Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Nancy Jean Lee was born August 27, 1945 to Dale and Phyllis Larson in Milbank, SD. Nancy spent her early school years in Stockholm and Viborg, SD. She moved in the 7th grade with her family to Brookings where she graduated from High School. She attended Nettleton Business College and worked as a secretary for a number of years at SDSU. Nancy married Neil Lee August 21, 1966. In their 48 years together they were blessed with three kids and five grandkids. Neil and Nancy spent 30 years in Fairmont, MN where they raised their children and made many great friends. Once her kids were in school, Nancy worked for a number of years at Hy-Vee, she loved her job and the people she met there. Neil and Nancy moved to Volga when they retired in 2007 where she was involved with First Lutheran Church and Meadow Creek golf course. Nancy's great loves are her family, golf, Hawaii and spoiling the grandkids. One of her favorite places to be was at the cabin on Big Stone Lake. Nancy will be missed by so many, her smile and personality could fill a room. Nancy is survived by her husband Neil; three children Rick (Kristi) Lee, Susie (Chris) Hirman, Eric (Katie) Lee; five grandchildren Kenzie, Brady, Zach, Jack, and Amelia; four siblings, Wayne (Pat) Larson, Susan (Tony) Sbei, Eileen (Jeff) Penick, Faye (Todd) Oines; sister-in-law Charlotte (Orv) Smidt; and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter Jennifer Denise. Memorial donations can be directed to the American Cancer Society.
