Nancy T. Erickson, age 76, of Brookings, died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Brookings Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Brookings, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Eidsness Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She graduated from Plankinton High School and received a bachelor of science degree in elementary and special education from the University of South Dakota in 1959. On December 30, 1959, she married Lewayne M. Erickson at Plankinton. She taught first grade at the Austin Elementary School in Vermillion for four years. She operated the Nancy Erickson Kiddie Kollege in Brookings from 1972 until 1982. Nancy was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, Chapter CA of P.E.O., Brookings Women's Club, and Alpha Phi Sorority. Survivors include her husband, Lewayne Erickson, of Brookings; son, David (Laura) Erickson, of Riverside, Connecticut; daughter, Melissa (Mark) Lindstrom, of Denver, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Michelle Vasquez of New York; grandchildren: Daniel, Lindsay, and Joshua Erickson, and Tobin Drew and Maddie Lindstrom; brother, Bruce W. (Karen) Tobin, of Rosemount, Minnesota; and sisters: Barbara (Dale) Odegaard of Mitchell and Mary Lee Tobin of Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Drew Allan Erickson; a brother and sister-in-law, James Robert Tobin and Ann Tobin; two brothers-in-law. Robert O. and Donald Erickson; and a sister-in-law, Imogene Pentz and her husband, Norbert.
