Mindy Price, age 46, of Brookings, SD, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at her home. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at First Methodist Church in Brookings. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.

Mindy was born on December 12, 1979, in Brookings, SD, to Kevin and Ruth Price. She was raised in Brookings, where she was surrounded by family and developed many of the interests and relationships that remained important to her throughout her life. As a child, Mindy enjoyed participating in Girl Scouts, where she especially enjoyed selling cookies, and she loved singing in choir. She attended school in the Brookings School District from kindergarten through high school, graduating from Brookings High School in 1999. Following graduation, Mindy continued her education at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, IA.

Mindy eventually found a place where she truly felt at home working in the customer service department at Walmart. For 21 years, she became a familiar face to countless customers and coworkers. Mindy enjoyed helping people and took pride in being able to serve members of the Brookings community through her work. Over more than two decades at Walmart, her coworkers became an important part of her life, and she formed many friendships along the way.

Her faith was also important to her. Mindy was a proud member of Aurora Methodist Church in Aurora, SD, where she enjoyed being part of the church community.

Outside of work, Mindy was happiest when she was surrounded by the people and things she loved. Family was an especially important part of her life, and she always looked forward to holidays and other opportunities to spend time together. She shared a particularly close bond with her dad, Kevin, and treasured the time they spent together.

Mindy also had a special place in her heart for her brother Dustin’s dogs, Maverick and Maya, and more than anything, Mindy valued the relationships she had with her family and friends. Those who knew Mindy knew there were also a few things that could immediately bring a smile to her face. She had a lifelong love for Mickey and Minnie Mouse and enjoyed anything with leopard or cheetah print. These interests became part of Mindy’s personality and were things her family and friends will fondly remember about her.

Mindy is survived by her parents, Kevin and Ruth Price; her brother, Dustin (Ashton) Price; her niece, Gwen Price; her aunt and uncle, Peggy (Vern) Schoeneman; her uncle and aunt, Curtis (Nancy) Price; along with many other relatives, friends, coworkers, and others whose lives she touched throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by members of her paternal family, Ellis and Addie Price, Clarence and Pearl McCuen, Lenice Price, Larry Price, Lawrence McCuen, Eunice McCuen, and Dale McCuen; and members of her maternal family, Harold Van Der Vliet, Betty Van Der Vliet, Larry Van Der Vliet, Beverly Thon, Allan Van Der Vliet, Loren Van Der Vliet, and Wayne Van Der Vliet.
