Michael D. Romereim, age 50, of Brookings, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Brookview Manor in Brookings, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at the United Church of Christ in Brookings, with interment in Hills of Rest Cemetery at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Michael D. Romereim was born August 30, 1955, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of Lloyd and Esther (Clark) Romereim. He grew up in Sioux Falls and attended Sioux Falls Public Schools. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973 and attended Spencer Technical Institute for one year. Mike enjoyed watching television, reading newspapers, and spending time with his children. Survivors include his children: Jenya and Justin Romereim and Katie Groskreutz all of Sioux Falls, Megan Romereim of Huron, Angela Romereim of Watertown, Chelsea Tucker of Sioux Falls, and Travis Block of Aurora; his step-children: Jenny Gieman of Brookings, Jason Williams (Jodi Easterby) of Stockholm, South Dakota, Shawna (Harold) Mellum of Madison, South Dakota, Scott Williams of DeSmet, South Dakota, Erin Schwab of Lake Preston, South Dakota, and Joe (Chelsea) Williams of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma; his father and step-mother, Lloyd H. (Harriet) Romereim of Brookings; seven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; a sister, Loye (Larry) Holmes of Brookings; brothers: Eugene Taylor, of Salem, South Dakota, William Taylor of Marion, Illinois, John and Tom VanMaanen of Sioux Falls, and Steve VanMaanen of Arlington, South Dakota; a step-brother, Richard Johnson of Pocatello, Idaho; a special friend, Peggy Block, and other special friends including Gerri Bader and Diana Tucker. He was preceded in death by his mother, and a sister, Wanda Willoford.
