Matthew J. Crosby, age 16, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at his home in Brookings. Visitations, followed by a brief service, will be from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, July 10, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Matthew James Crosby was born February 15, 1996, at Thomasville, Georgia, to Steven Crosby and Carol Malone. He moved with his family to Brookings when he was six months old, where he attended elementary and high school. Survivors include his parents, Carol Malone of Brookings, and Steven Crosby of Brookings; a sister, Shannon Crosby of Haddon Heights, New Jersey; a brother, Jesse Crosby, of Brookings; a grandmother, Judith Malone, of Haddon Heights, New Jersey; a great-grandmother, Catherine Kordeck, of Haddon Heights, New Jersey; and uncle and aunt, Al (Jeanette) Malone, of Collingswood, New Jersey; a special friend, Lauren Smidt, of Brookings; and his canine friend, Pookie.
