Mary Lou Taylor, 89, of Arlington, formerly of Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at the Arlington Care Center. There will be no services held. Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting Mary Lou's family with arrangements.
Mary Lou Taylor was born on February 17, 1931, to Roy and Nell (Gibbins) Reynolds in East St. Louis, Illinois. She grew up in the Fairview Heights area, and graduated from East St. Louis High School in 1949. On September 23, 1950, Mary Lou married Robert Taylor, and the couple went on to raise six children: Sandy, Dale, Sharon, Bobby Jr., Mary Ellen, and Mike.
Throughout her life Mary Lou enjoyed various arts and crafts, and camping at Lake Sara with her family. Mary Lou especially loved children, and provided childcare for numerous years throughout the area, as well as frequently acting as a substitute teacher. She was also an active member of St. Albert the Great.
Mary Lou is survived by her children: Sandy (Vern) Falconer, of Arlington, SD, Dale (Tracey) Taylor, of Belleville, IL, and Sharon (Jack) Niederbrach-Jones, of New Athens, IL; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Sr.; three children: Bobby Taylor Jr, Mary Ellen, and Mike; and her siblings.
