Marvin Kenneth Leite (M.K.), son of Gustav and Edna (Halsten) Leite was born on May 16, 1922 at Bruce, South Dakota. Marvin had the distinction of being born in the home where he lived with his parents and later with his wife Ruth (Jorenby) and their six children. Marvin farmed for over 30 years. He started a new career at the age of 50 working at 3M in Brookings. His one hobby of tinkering and making something out of nothing led him to invent and manufacture the KuKiaKuk Earth Probe. Marvin enjoyed working outdoors in his yard and garden, visiting with family and friends, playing cards, picnics in the yard and sharing his dill pickles. His large group of family and friends brought him much joy.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Volga; his children: Steve (Melody Tenhoff) of Rush City, Minnesota; Judy (Ron) Kopren of Rapid City, South Dakota; Dale (Kris) Leite of Volga, South Dakota; Paul (Beth) Leite of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; Mark Leite of Volga, South Dakota, and Tom (Rena) Leite, of Rapid City, South Dakota; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters Esther Dahl of Brookings, South Dakota, and Clarice Kendall of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Erv, Carlton, Hartman and Gerhard; and two sisters Viola Schoen and Geneva Kiner.
