Marlyn J. Rennich, age 71, of White, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the White Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brookings, with interment in Fairview Cemetery at White. Visitations will be from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Marlyn Jean Rennich was born January 10, 1943, at Watertown, South Dakota, to Leo and Evelyn (Johnson) Rennich. He attended country school in Argo Township and graduated from White High School in 1961. On August 30, 1963, he married Alice Murfield at Argo Lutheran Church near White. Marlyn farmed for 23 years near White, and then worked for 3M in Brookings for 13 years. He retired in 2009. He mowed lawns in White for several years, including Fairview Cemetery for over 20 years. Marlyn was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brookings. He served on the White City Council. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, going on sightseeing drives in the area, and spending time with his grandkids. He also enjoyed cooking, and will be remembered for his great potato salad. Survivors include his wife, Alice, of White; three children: Donna Hanna (Herb Saathoff) of White, Dean (Laura) Rennich of Pella, Iowa, and Douglas (Kim) Rennich of Mondovi, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren: Brandon and Brady Hanna, Taylor, Sean, Stephanie, Mickena, Megan, and Emily Rennich, and Dylan North; a great-grandson, Conner Hanna; a brother, Ray (Judy) Rennich, of White; and two sisters: Marilyn (Dean) Steichen of Danville, California, and Ruth Ann (Richard) Lucas of White. Marlyn was preceded in death by his parents.
