Marj Hendricks, 85, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Neighborhoods at Brookview. Private burial will take place Saturday morning at Fairlawn Cemetery in Aurora. A memorial service will be held at Eidsness Funeral Home Saturday, February 27 th at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Neighborhoods at Brookview or to Union Gospel Mission, 701 E. 8 th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57103.

Marj was born in Renner, SD and grew up in Floodwood, Minnesota, graduating from high school there. She moved to Duluth where she worked for Northwestern Telephone Company.

You probably knew her from her employment with the Brookings Register, the SDSU Army ROTC unit, or from insurance sales. She also worked at McDonald's as a hostess for many years and as a crossing guard for the Brookings School District. She had many friends and was elected vice president of Sunchase Association in 2010.

Marj is survived by three sons: Bernie (Julie) of Brookings, Bob (Julie) of Minneapolis, and Bill of California, and granddaughter Summer (whom she raised for 14 years), and eight other grandchildren. Her husband, Glen, preceded her in death, as well as her parents, Auris and Mae Conklin, and six brothers: Lionel, Floyd, Clayton, Gordon, Howard, and Ray.
