Marilyn M. Zemlicka, age 58, of Brookings, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at her residence in Brookings, South Dakota. Memorial services will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Singsaas Lutheran Church, rural Astoria, South Dakota, with interment at the church cemetery. Marilyn Mae Zemlicka was born September, 19, 1949, at Hendricks, Minnesota to Sam L. and Nellie May (Riley) Clauson. She grew up in rural Astoria, later moving with her mother and siblings to Astoria and then Bruce, South Dakota. Marilyn graduated from Volga High School. She later attended one year at Dakota Wesleyan University, one year at Ambassador College, Big Sandy, Texas, and one year at South Dakota State University pursuing a psychology degree. Marilyn enjoyed a variety of church affiliations, loved Christian music and was church pianist for a number of years. But her greatest love was her children, Brett, Tami, and Jeni; her grandson, Logan; and the many pets she called babies. Survivors include her son, Brett (Angel) Zemlicka of Bloomington, Minnesota; her two daughters, Tami (Allan) Story of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Jeni (Miah) Norwood of Volga, Sourh Dakota; a grandson, Logan Norwood; three brothers; Don (Barb) Clauson of Hot Springs, South Dakota, Sam (Bernice) Clauson of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Arnold (Trish) Clauson of Denison, Texas; four step-brothers, Loran (Carol) Perry, Bob (Lola) Perry, and Ron (Margaret) Perry of Brookings, South Dakota, and Murvin (Rita) Perry of Johnson City, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam L. Clauson and Nellie M. Clauson (Perry), two brothers, Lloyd and Caroll Clauson, and one sister, Marie Holman Kleinow.
