Marcia Ann Williams passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026 in Flandreau, SD. A visitation for Marcia will take place from 4:00-6:00pm on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, SD. A mass for her will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday July 21, 2026 at St Thomas More Catholic Parish in Brookings, SD.
Marcia was born on March 9, 1937 in Canistota, SD, the daughter of Mathias and Adelaide (Doeden) Wingert.
Marcia received her education in Canistota, South Dakota, and went on to attend Presentation College School of Nursing, graduating in 1958. She began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse at McKennan Hospital, where she worked from 1958 to 1965. Marcia later joined the Northern Grain and Insect Research Center, serving as Supervisor of the Biochemistry Laboratory for 22 years before retiring from federal service. Following her retirement, she continued working part-time at MTR and Larson Manufacturing.
On April 24, 1965, Marcia was united in marriage to Henry “Hank” Williams at St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They shared many wonderful years together until Hank’s passing on August 29, 2022.
A devoted member of St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, Marcia was actively involved in the Church Guild, Catholic Daughters, Easter Seals, and Right to Life. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Area Management Training Center. Marcia cherished time spent with family and friends, especially during holidays and special gatherings. Her faith, dedication to service, and love for those around her will be remembered by all who knew her.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Travis (Marla) Williams and Leslie (Roger) Muller, both of Brookings, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hank and seven brothers and sisters.
