Marcia D. Hayes, 53, of Elkton, South Dakota, died Saturday, April 12, 2003, at her home in Elkton, South Dakota, of kidney cancer. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 18, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Elkton, with interment at Memorial Hill Cemetery in Lake Benton, Minnesota. Visitations will be from 6-9 P.M. Thursday at Eidsness-Zink Funeral Chapel in Elkton. Marcia Darlene (Clipper) Hayes was born August 28, 1949, at Tyler, Minnesota, to Keith and Dorothy (Rogers) Clipper. She attended Lake Benton Elementary School until 1956. She attended Verdi Elementary School and graduated from Verdi Public High School in 1967. She attended Pillsbury Bible College for two years. On August 2, 1969, Marcia married Bob Hayes at First Baptist Church in Lake Benton, Minnesota. To this union three children were born: Kimberly, Kristie, and Kelley. Marcia and Bob lived in the Hadley, Michigan, area from 1969 until 1982 and in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, from 1982 until 2001. Marcia resided in Elkton since May 1, 2001. She was very active with her family and church, and especially enjoyed music. Survivors include her husband, Bob Hayes, of Hadley, Michigan; three children: Kimberly (Tim) Henderson of Elkton, South Dakota, Kristie (Shawn) Applegate of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Kelley (Jeremy) Bjornstad of Rowlett, Texas; three grandchildren: Ashley Kay, Alexander John, and Austin Robert Henderson; father, Keith (Marlys) Clipper, of Verdi, Minnesota; and a brother, Jeffrey Keith Clipper, of Verdi. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Clipper.
