Maralyn Twombley, 79, of Arlington, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018, at the Arlington Care Center in Arlington, South Dakota. Following her wishes, Maralyn will be cremated, with a graveside service occurring at a later date.

Maralyn Bassett was born on May 26, 1938, to Loren and Mona (Goodrich) Bassett in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Throughout her youth, her family moved many times, and they called several South Dakota cities home, including Mitchell, Aberdeen, Watertown, Yankton, and Brookings. In the later part of her senior year, Maralyn's family settled in Watertown, South Dakota, where she graduated from high school.

Maralyn was united in marriage to LeRoy Twombley on July 28, 1957, in Watertown, South Dakota. To this union three sons were born: Greg, Wayne, and Jim.

Maralyn was a wife and mother, and spent much of her adult life caring for her husband and children as a housewife. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, wife, and friend to all that she met.

Those surviving Maralyn include sons: Greg (Jennifer) Twombley, of Woodbridge, VA, Wayne (Jenny) Twombley, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Jim Twombley, of Inwood, IA; 6 grandchildren, Lauran, Tyler, Lindsey, Andrew, Emily, and Jacob, 3 great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Connor, and Sebastian, sister-in-law, Gladys Bassett, Beulah Stoltz, Lola Busch and 12 nieces and nephews.

Maralyn was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy, parents, Loren and Mona Bassett; brother, Robert; and grandson Todd.
