Magdalena IntVeld, age 91, of Bruce, died Monday, July 18, 2011, at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the Volga Christian Reformed Church, with interment in Trinity Cemetery at Volga. Visitations will be from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Magdalena (Lengkeek) IntVeld was born December 14, 1919, on the family farm near Volga, South Dakota, to Kryn and Gertie (Meyer) Lengkeek. She attended country school and worked at the creamery in Volga. On February 19, 1946, she married Marten IntVeld at Volga. The couple farmed north of Bruce, and Magdalena worked at the Parkview Home in Volga for 20 years. Marten died February 8, 2000. Magdalena's priorities in life were her family and church. She was a member of the Volga Christian Reformed Church, and enjoyed raising flowers and gardening, and collecting dolls and stuffed animals. Survivors include her ten children: Dr. Joanne IntVeld of Cook, MN, David (Sue) IntVeld of Bruce, SD, Donald (Pat) IntVeld of Glidden, IA, Doug (Shirley) IntVeld of White, SD, Darris IntVeld of Cook, MN, Janice (Michael) Sutherlin of Ferguson, MO, Judy (Michael) Kruse of Rogers, MN, Joyce (Chris) Holmes of Angora, MN, Dale IntVeld of Marion, New York, and Dean IntVeld of Brookings; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Johanna Lengkeek, of Brookings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marten; three brothers: Henry, Gerrit, and Peter; an infant sister, Magdalena; and two sisters: Gertrude and Hilda.
