Lynn Marie Grengs, 57, of Brookings, SD passed away on July 21, 2025 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD under hospice care. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. on Friday, July 25, 2025, at First Lutheran Church in Volga with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1-3 PM on Friday, also at the church.  Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

On January 31, 1968 in Lake Preston, SD, Gerald and Kathi Granum welcomed their first of five children and only daughter to the world. From a young age, Lynn knew she would need thick skin gaining four brothers who picked on her. We are glad she was used to it because her husband, children, and grandchildren continued the tradition.

Lynn attended Sioux Valley school in Volga, SD, and went into the work force after. From her marriage to Rob Hruska, they brought into the world a daughter in late 1989, Stephanie, who gets told every day how much she resembles her mom. Lynn went onto marrying the love of her life, Doug Grengs, in the fall of 1992, and later welcomed their favorite child, Chase. Doug and Lynn unknowingly "adopted" two other children- Natausha (Deurmier) Rozeboom and Brandon Amenta, who have been part of their immediate family for decades.

After her children grew up, she took an early retirement due to her health and stepped into the role of a full-time grandma.

She enjoyed reading, taking pontoon rides, and losing every bean bag game she had ever played. Lynn particularly enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and yelling at them on the TV. One of her favorite memories was when she took a vacation to Graceland with her mom so they could visit their king, Elvis. Her family looked forward to Lynn bringing her Scotcheroos and Dorito Dip to every family gathering.

Lynn felt grateful for having a loving, devoted husband of 33 years and was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. We ask donations be made to the Coca- Cola Company as she has single handedly funded them since the early 90's with her Diet Coke habit.

She is survived by her husband, Doug Grengs; Children, Stephanie Hruska and Chase Grengs; Grandchildren, Presley, Joselyn, Cole, and Carsyn; Father, Gerald Granum; Brothers, Gerry(Gina) Granum, Jamie(Teresa) Granum, David(Angie) Granum, and Darin Granum; Father and Mother-in-law, Mathias and Lona Grengs; Brothers-in-law, Terry Grengs, Steve(Cheryl) Grengs, Dennis Grengs, and sister-in-law Lisa(John) Houdina; An abundance of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; Special friends that turned into family, Ryan and Alecia Frank, Natausha (Deurmier) Rozeboom, Brandon Amenta, and Angie Gums.

She was preceded in death by her mom, Kathi Granum; Brother-in-law, David Grengs; and many aunts and uncles; and her grandparents, Sylvan and Arlene Granum and Donald and Dorothy King.

Lynn will be remembered as an amazing wife, mom, grandma, and several other loving titles.
