IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lynda L.
Seas
December 13, 1951 – October 7, 2023
Lynda Seas, age 71, formerly of Brookings, died Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Unity Hospital, Fridley, MN embraced by her loving family after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Graveside services are currently pending in Greenwood Cemetery at Brookings, SD. The family requests that cards be sent to Eidsness Funeral Home at 1617 Orchard Drive, Brookings, SD 57006. They will then be forwarded onto the family.
Lynda Lee Seas was born December 13, 1951, at Brookings, South Dakota, to Lyle and Helen (Lee) Seas. As the first-born and only girl, Lynda was a self-described "daddy's girl" and enjoyed helping around the house. She graduated from Brookings High School and then went on to Lake Area Vo-Tech in Watertown, SD where she graduated with her nursing degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She worked primarily within elder care and nursing homes until she was in a car accident and her injuries prevented her from doing the continued day-to-day tasks within these care communities. She transitioned to working within financial services in Sioux Falls, SD – until she eventually moved to Minneapolis where she worked for the Target Financial Services division – winning many awards and recognition.
It was at this time in Minneapolis where she became a first-time homeowner and assisted her younger brother Jim to support his three children. Having never had her own children, "Auntie" Lynda enjoyed spoiling her nephews with ice cream for breakfast, trips to Target, and popcorn and movie nights every weekend. Lynda loved her time at the family cabin on Lake Kampeska, as well as her hobbies of quilting, sewing, crocheting, reading, and her time with family.
In February 2023, Lynda was diagnosed with colon cancer and fought to beat the "Big C". She endured numerous surgeries, hospitalizations, and her lengthy chemo and radiation treatments. Lynda completed all these treatments with courage and determination and got to "ring the bell" after her last treatment – but sadly passed 5 days later.
Grateful for having shared her life are her two brothers and their families: Richard and his wife, Karen and their children: Jenifer, David, and Laura of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and James and his children, Shawn, Tarius, and Jonathan of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lynda leaves behind her "fur babies" Oliver and Greta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Helen. Lynda had requested no formal services at this time.
