Lucille M. Peters, age 71, of White, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at the Hendricks, Minnesota, Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 24, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in White, with interment in Fairview Cemetery. Visitations will be Friday, 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in White. Lucille Mae (Hicks) Peters was born December 17, 1932, in Oak Lake Township, near White, South Dakota, to Delbert A. and Eulalia V. (Benz) Hicks. She attended country school and did babysitting and housework. On February 1, 1951, she married Sidney A. Peters at Pipestone, Minnesota. The couple lived in Luverne, Minnesota, before moving to White in 1964. Lucille was a member of the United Methodist Church in White, where she was custodian for nine years, and she was a member of the Roaring Twenties Extension Club for 12 years. She enjoyed sewing, painting, doing puzzles, bird watching, and working on genealogy; and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Sidney A. Peters, of White; three children: Lyle (Donna) Peters of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Brian (MaryLee) Peters of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Sandra (Glen) Long of Watertown, South Dakota; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Phyllis Hemmer of Braham, Minnesota, and Loretta (Don) Jackson of Windom, Minnesota; and two brothers: David (Verna) Hicks of White, and Doyle (Darla) Hicks of Brookings, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Verona Miller; and three brothers: Russell, Wayne, and Orlin Hicks.
