Louise A. Albright, age 93, of Brookings, died Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Riverview Manor in Flandreau, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Brookings, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Louise A. (Biteler) Albright was born September 18, 1917, at Larchwood, Iowa, to Otto M. and Emma M. (Horn) Biteler. She attended school in Sioux Falls, Vivian, and Flandreau, where she helped on the family farm. On June 6, 1937, she married Wayne M. Albright at Sioux Falls. The couple moved to Brookings in 1939. In 1964 Louise began working in housekeeping in the nursery at the Brookings Hospital. She retired in 1992. Wayne died July 21, 1997. Louise was a member of First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliaries, Eight and Forty, AARP, Senior Citizens, and the Hospital Auxiliary. She loved reading, bowling, and music, and took lessons to play the organ after retirement. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her son Donn Albright and his wife Rhea of Kirkman, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Marsha Albright Miller of Visalia, California; five grandchildren: Tris, Trevor, Ty, Aaron, and Amber; two step-grandchildren, Andy and Aimee; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and son William.
