Louis Butch Rollins, age 66, of Brookings, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 17, 2008, at the Holy Life Tabernacle in Brookings, with visitations beginning at the church at 5:00 P.M. Interment will take place on Thursday at Black Hills National Cemetery. Louis Edwards Butch Rollins was born July 18, 1941, at Rapid City, South Dakota, to Lenard C. and Ethyl T. (Robb) Rollins. He grew up and attended school in Rapid City. He served in the U.S. Navy from January 28, 1960, until June 9, 1967. Butch was employed in farming and ranching, and he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and working with animals. Survivors include two daughters: Katrina Rollins and Kimberly (Mark) Havard, both of Brookings; a son, Bob Rollins, of Redfield, South Dakota; grandchildren, Gerald and Breanna Havard; a brother, Bert (Ursula) Rollins, of Homestead, Florida; sisters: Lillian (Thomas) Hislop of Rapid City, South Dakota, Betty Crovisier of Rapid City, Eydie (Charles) Northup of Puposky, Minnesota, Jack (Howard) Friedel of Washington state; a sister-in-law, Peggy Rollins of Rapid City, and a special friend, Carol Bouska, of Sioux Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and son.
