Lorraine B. Anderson, age 83, of Brookings, died Friday, November 12, 2010, at Brookview Manor in Brookings. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 16, at the First Assembly of God in Brookings, with interment in Fairview Cemetery at White. Visitations will be from 5-7 P.M. Monday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.

Lorraine Beulah (Groot) Anderson was born August 5, 1927, on a farm southwest of Arlington, South Dakota, to Nick and Florence (Henry) Groot. She attended country school , and on October 16, 1947, married Frank Anderson in Brookings. The Andersons farmed north of Aurora, and Lorraine moved into Brookings in the fall of 1984. Frank died May 13, 1994.

Lorraine enjoyed animals, being outdoors, and reading, especially the Word. She also enjoyed playing bingo, listening to radio talk shows and services from the Jehovahs Witnesses, and keeping up with current events.

Survivors include five children: Arnold (Perri) Anderson of Arlington, South Dakota, Elmer (Joyce) Anderson of Vienna, South Dakota, Francis Anderson of White, South Dakota, Joyceinna (Dwayne) Bair of Nampa, Idaho, and Rosalie (Jim) Styf of Aurora, South Dakota; three grandchildren: Shelby and Coby Styf and Kevin Anderson; a sister, Della Sveen, of Brookings; five nephews; a niece; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; and two brothers: Delbert and Walt Groot.
