Lois E. Prine, age 83, of Brookings, died Friday, February 29, 2008, at Brookview Manor in Brookings. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, with interment at Blom Prairie Cemetery near Toronto, South Dakota. Visitations will precede services on Sunday. Memorials may be directed to the United Church of Christ in Brookings. Lois Eileen Prine was born September 15, 1924, at Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles and Alma (Anderson) Prine. The family moved to Baxter, Iowa, shortly after Loiss birth. When she was 14, Lois confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined the First Congregational Church. She graduated from high school in 1942. During World War II, Lois worked at the Des Moines Ordnance Plant in Ankeny, Iowa. After the war, she worked as an accounting clerk. She retired in 1982 after 28 years with Allis Chalmers. She moved to Brookings in 1986. Lois was a charter member of the Brookings United Church of Christ. Her special interests were music and drama. She is survived by cousins.
