Obituary
Lloyd V. Kjelden, age 86, of Brookings, died Monday, November 30, 2009, at Brookview Manor in Brookings. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, with interment at Singsaas Lutheran Cemetery. Visitations will precede services on Saturday, beginning at 12 noon.
Lloyd Vernon Kjelden was born November 4, 1923, on the family farm between Hendricks and White, to Ole O. and Bertha (Sandro) Kjelden. He graduated from White High School in 1943. He farmed and worked as a custodian at SDSU.
Survivors include his brother Orville Kjelden of Brookings; an aunt and an uncle; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Philbert, Clifford, Ronald, and Edwin.
